PC Fix it 4 U - Computer and IT training specialists

We all like to know who we are dealing with, so I guess that this is the place where you find out all about me. My name is Lee Mansfield and I have been involved and interested in computers since being about 10 years old. I remember being amazed with the graphics and sounds when my parents bought me a Phillips G7000 game console one Christmas (these you can still pick up from eBay) I other eBay training courses please visit www.ebaytuition.co.uk for more information.

Moving onto a Commodore 64, then Amiga 1200 – this is when I became interested in seeing how computers worked.  I began formatting hard drives, re-building and personalising the operating system (Workbench). I started to help lots of friends out by backing up their data and helping others with problems such as viruses, corrupt data, software and hardware installation.

In October, 1995 Microsoft launched “Windows 95”, this was similar to the Amiga Workbench operating system (O/S) but much more powerful and more complex. In 1996 I purchased my first PC, understanding, learning and troubleshooting software and hardware problems. Although the Amiga was an amazing machine and was pushed to the limits during the 90’s, the PC and it’s Windows (O/S) took computers to a new dimension, individual PCI slots for different and easy hardware installation led third party companies to keep pushing technology as time moves on.

In June, 1998, Microsoft released Windows 98. It was the last version of Windows based O/S on the MS-DOS kernel. Windows 98 has Microsoft's Internet browser "Internet Explorer 4" built in and supports the new “plug & play” input devices like USB and Firewire. It was similar O/S to Windows 95 but more advanced, exploring all the new commands and fresh features which made the user have greater control of their computer.

Microsoft had been working on a much faster, more user friendly O/S and released Windows XP in October 2001, since that date there has been hundreds of updates and a new version of XP called Windows XP SP2 has been released. Windows operating system is now installed and used in almost every computer in the home and business.

I decided to setup my own business as an IT/PC technician and tuition instructor to help others out and give them an excellent, friendly professional service at a very reasonable and competitive hourly rate. No matter if you are young, middle-aged or elderly, new users, beginners or intermediate are all welcome (elderly are entitled to my reduced rates) I believe you are never too old to learn anything new. My services cover Laptops/Notebooks and all Desktop computers.
